Session Two of Joining the Dots: Reproductive Rights and Health
We are pleased to announce session 2 of our fourth series of Joining the Dots: International Conversations on Violence Against Women.
Join us on Friday 4th April, to discuss sexual and reproductive rights and health (SRRH).
USA policies on contraception and abortion threaten women’s choices, health and safety not only in the USA but internationally. Federal funds cannot be used for abortion. The sudden dismantling of USAID – and therefore the progammes it has supported – risk a rise in HIV and unwanted pregnancies. It will also likely leave women little option but to resort to unsafe abortions and unsafe deliveries. Women will suffer avoidable risks, dangers and deaths in various parts of the world.
Join us to hear from three amazing women on the frontlines of organising for and delivering women’s reproductive rights:
Sandra Oyarzo in Santiago, Chile – Asoc. Prof.Midwife Sandra Oyarzo Torres (RM BM M.Ed.). ICM President
Prossy Muyingo, in Kampala Uganda – Professional community health worker under MOH Uganda working with children under five, pregnant mothers and providing family planning services
Roopa Dhatt in Washington DC- social innovator dedicated to transforming global health and development; Founder of Women in Global Health.
Further details about the series are available on our Events page.
