College and University Responses to Forced Marriage

This report presents findings on how tertiary education institutions in the UK address issues of forced marriage and violence against women when students are affected: how do institutions respond, what are their strengths, and what could be better? Findings were based on stakeholder interviews and a scan of college and university websites. The evidence suggests that while individual staff members are highly motivated and well informed, the sector’s response to FM/VAW is very uneven and its potential to play a more proactive role in ending FM/VAW is not yet realised.
